Let’s bid adieu to July with the happy note of what’s coming. With August stirring up our patriotic side, there are two Bollywood movies that’ll awaken the proud Indian in you.


Screening on 11th August

Nerkonda Paarvai 

A legal thriller written and directed by H. Vinoth, produced by Boney Kapoor. It is a remake of the Bachchan-starrer Pink. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang in the lead roles – with Vidya Balan. Rangaraj Pandey and Adhik Ravichandran will act in pivotal roles. The song Agalaathey showing Balan romancing Ajith is already making raves on the internet.


Screening on 16th, 17th & 18th August

Mission Mangal 

A science fiction drama jointly produced by Akshay Kumar, R. Balki, Aruna Bhatia, and Anil Naidu. With an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya and Sonakshi Sinha it promises to be the next big hit. The film is loosely based on the story of scientists at Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission, which marked India’s first interplanetary expedition. The teaser shows an exceptional mix of patriotism and woman empowerment.


Screening on 24th August

Batla House 

An action thriller directed by Nikkhil Advani. Inspired by the Operation Batla House that took place in 2008, the film stars John Abraham in the lead role of a John playing a tough, no-nonsense top police officer named Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. True life occurrence, when Delhi police acted on a tip-off about a house in Jamia Nagar that was supposedly inhabited by suspects responsible for the Delhi bomb blasts. The police stormed into the house and by the end of the heavy fire, two suspects were reported dead. The film also has a song performed by the stunning Nora Fatehi.


Screening on 30th & 31st August & 1st September


An action thriller written and directed by Sujeeth, produced by UV Creations and T-Series. Starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, the film is shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. This film marks the 40-year-old actor’s debut in Hindi cinema and Shraddha Kapoor’s debut in South Indian cinema. Most known for his role in Baahubali, Prabhas learned Hindi to dub for the film in his own voice. Saaho teaser has already hit record-breaking views.
