A Golden Jubilee Marking Five Decades of Unity, Culture, and Service
The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) in Hong Kong marked a historic milestone, its 50th anniversary, with a vibrant cultural celebration that also honored 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Bharat. The event took place on 24th January, 2026 in Tung Chung community hall to packed audiences, radiating joy, devotion, and community spirit, reflecting the collective energy of five decades of seva (selfless service) and unity.
A Celebration of Heritage and Harmony
Families, friends, and community members came together to celebrate the rich cultural fabric of Hindu heritage. The evening overflowed with enthusiasm as children performed captivating dances and skits that drew admiration from all. The event’s resounding success was made possible through the thoughtful planning and dedicated efforts of the dynamic karyakartas, Shrimati Pooja Jain and Shri Kashish Sidana.
Esteemed leaders including Mr. Nirmal Laungani ji (President, HSS HK), Dr. Manoj Motwani ji (Secretary General, HSS HK), Mr. Dipak ji (HSS HK), Mr. N.K. Rathi ji (President, VHP HK) and Dr. Rakesh ji (VHP HK) played an integral role in steering the celebration. Their vision and guidance emphasised unity among diverse Hindu sampradayas, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that defines the community.
Shri Nirmal Laungani, the president of HSS HK welcomed the chief guests, Sushri Regina Ip, the convenor of the Executive Council and Shri Rajesh Naik, the Consul General of Bharat to HK and Macau, as well as all other prominent guests and well-wishers from Hindu organisations.
In his keynote address, Nirmal ji traced the successful 5-decade long journey of HSS in organising shakhas, camps, sports days, picnics, blood donation drives. HSS was the first to organise a gathering of diverse Hindu organisations on one platform in 1989. He also spoke of the close cultural links between the Hindu and Chinese civilisations that extended to more than 2,000 years, and of HK Indians deep connect with the city of Hong Kong.

Inspiring Words from Distinguished Guests
The evening featured special addresses that deeply resonated with the audience.
In her speech, Hon. Sushri Regina Ip, Convenor of the Executive Council, congratulated HSS on its milestone moment, narrated her positive experiences with Indians residing in HK. She also highlighted the timeless value of respect for diverse perspectives, something which is so integral to Hindu civilisation and philosophy.
Hon. Shri Rajesh Naik ji, Consul General of India in HK & Macau, fondly recalled his early experiences in attending shakhas in Bharat and how Sangh has shaped a big role in nation building and community work, beautifully bridging personal memories with the ongoing mission of community building.

Showcasing Young Talent
The young performers were the heart of the evening.
The highlight of the night was Dashavatar, a mesmerizing portrayal of Bhagwan Vishnu’s ten incarnations, blending live performances with multimedia storytelling, the performance stood out for its creativity and devotion and drew loud applause.
The skit was hosted by Purvi and voiced beautifully by Arnav. Other kids who performed were;

– Narasimha: Vihaan
– Vamana: Arnav
– Parashurama: Khush
– Rama: Jishnu
– Krishna: Kushagra
– Buddha: Parv

Children including Vaanea, Vihaana, Sara, Aadya, Khushi, Shanaya, Geet, Kavya, Aradhhya, Anishka, Navya and Kairvi charmed the audience with soulful dances celebrating Lord Krishna and Lord Ram, choreographed with grace by Rachna Joshi ji. From Whampoa’s Chandragupta Shakha, Shreyaan, Shaivi, Yash, Raghunath, and Anish delivered a well appreciated skit on how Sangh impacted their lives, and how kids learn about their culture and values in shakhas.

From Tung Chung’s Saraswati Shakha, the super teens Niyati, Purvi, Aayush & Aashi impressed with thoughtful speeches and presentations, even while balancing their busy schedules that were laden with school exams and tests.

A special moment came when Parineeti enchanted the audience with a heartfelt solo singing performance that won every heart.

The Dashavatar theme based art competition spotlighted immense creativity; all artwork submitted by 14 kids drew loud applause for their creativity – few mentions include Purvi’s intricate sketch to standout works by winners Parv, Anvesha, Khushi, and Navya.



Honoring the Past, Envisioning the Future
Shri Manoj Motwani, general secretary of HSS spoke on the innumerable activities that were being done by Sangh across the world, this included running schools, relief activities and much more. He also spoke of the World Hindu Congress – a massive gathering of Hindus from all over the world that started in New Delhi in 2014, and which will be held in December this year in Mumbai.
RSS thinker and leader Shri Sunil Ambekar addressed the audience through video call, congratulating the organisers for holding this event and stressing the eternal message of Hinduism that’s not a religion in the strict sense but a way of life, whose message can be applicable to the entire humanity.

The success of this golden jubilee celebration reflects the collective spirit of teamwork, devotion, and unity. Heartfelt congratulations to all organisers, performers, parents, and volunteers whose dedication brought the evening to life.
The event’s seamless flow was made possible by the tireless efforts of Shri Dipak Kumar and Shri Haresh Khushi of HSS, Shri N K Rathi, president of VHP HK, Dr Rakesh Sharma of VHP with volunteers Vipul Jain, Vijay Kothari, Sharad Bhandari, Nitin Khabiya, Aman Agrawal and Ankul Sidana, whose precious commitment ensured every child shone brightly on stage.
