Beloved Readers,
We wish each one of you a very happy Diwali! The festival of colors and lights is here. I am excited to see all our Hong Kong Indians in traditional attire. All of them will surely look spectacular. Especially in Tung Chung, on Diwali laxmi puja night, you will see a huge crowd of Indians all over Tung Chung. Last year, in Caribbean Coast Tung Chung, HK Police was called by someone to request all the Indians to stop burning fuljari’s and also make less noise. In short, they wanted us to go back home and finish this Diwali get-together. Women in colorful sarees and men in kurta-pyjamas are, in fact, not easy to recognize. Those friendly gestures, smiles, and laughter, and everyone wishing each other Happy Diwali with a hug, is an ecstatic feeling for sure. This year let’s celebrate Diwali with the same zest and zeal. Forget & Forgive!
In this Diwali special issue, I wanted to cover each and every community leader of Hong Kong but unfortunately, my team couldn’t find enough time to reach out to all of them. Also, a few of the community leaders prefer to stay under the blanket and don’t want to make themselves famous. I think every community leader of Hong Kong deserves that accolade of honor and gratitude from all the Indians living in HK. Read the cover story and you’ll surely know one of them, this is our A-Desiflava way to thank them on behalf of everyone here in HK. A Big Hug and Thanks to all of you!
Feature article on DSC International School was indeed a tough one to do.There were so many alumni parents and school pass-outs who reverted back to me when we approached them to give us their testimonials for the school. Each and everyone praised the school, faculty, and everything there. I realized that DSC International is exceptional for sure.
Aunty MVP column with respected Poonam Mehta Maam has been going strong for the past 8 years. A new and regular column called Legal Guru by a leading solicitor in Hong Kong is introduced in this issue. Also, our regulars in Globetrotter, Astrology, and Contests will surely be a good read.
