As of April 5, 2022, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Hong Kong amounts to 1,177,814, including 8,349 fatal cases. Last year, the spread of infection was under control in this Special Administrative Region, with nearly 7-9 cases per day.
However, with new variants of coronavirus and their rapid spread, the number of cases is increasing significantly. The 7-day moving average of virus cases is 4861 as of April 5, 2022. Considering the surge in cases, Chief Executive Carrie Lam is encouraging people to take 3-day home rapid tests between April 8 to 10.

In fact, visiting or entering certain places is restricted without vaccination certificates. Nevertheless, people need to stop believing in groundless myths to help reduce the surging cases.
