An opportunity to connect with Family
At this time of crisis, when India and the whole world is in Lockdown, you may find yourself stuck in a monotonous routine trapped at home. Nobody can blame you for thinking like that. As the Novel Corona Virus spreads, it is very important to practice all safety measures and be a responsible citizen.
Now, why don’t we look at it from another aspect? Imagine you have all the leisure time in the world, what you would do? Most people would say, they would accomplish their dreams or do something creative. Of course, you can do that but let’s be realistic, you are stuck at home with limited resources. What you can do is to connect with your family.
You may think that your relationship is perfect, but when you go and talk to that person you will realize how much they are sacrificing and adjusting for you. This is the time to get your heads out of screens and enter the real world. Do people actually have time to sit together in their normal busy schedule? Those nine to five and five to nine work shifts barely leave any time for actual bonding. When life gives you lemons make lemonade. Just like that make the best of this opportunity the lockdown has provided.
In the words of the first Russian President, Boris Yeltsin, “We don’t appreciate what we have until it’s gone.” Just like that we never appreciate the people who love and care about us the most. It is time that we realize that they are the only ones protecting us from this cold, selfish, and easily offended world.
You should spend some quality time together. You will be amused what wonders a simple game of cards or Uno can do. This is the time when you can get rid of all misunderstandings and grudges. Devote yourself and a bit of your time to the one you love and care for the most by doing the thing you both like. Whether it’s your father, mother, or grandparents. This time would fly much easier with spending time with your family, heal your relationships while giving time to the world to heal and recover.
In today’s world when everything is losing its meaning, we need to realize the importance of family more than ever. While the world is becoming more modern and advanced, the meaning of family and what stands for remains the same.
This lockdown may seem like a punishment to all, but the truth is that it’s bringing us closer to our loved ones. Just imagine you have to live in this ‘lockdown period’ for your entire remaining life, and you might start adjusting to the real needs and pleasures of the real companions of your life, your family. Have you seen the sky? It looks brighter and smiling at you.
Have you seen the birds? They look more joyous and chirpy. Now take a look at your family, and they would also look brighter, more joyous, and chirpier as the free world outside. Maybe this connection with your family is the undiscovered secret towards a progressive and a more peaceful world.
