The Shell Airport (Cargo Terminal) Gas and Charging Station will be the largest Shell service station in Hong Kong. It covers an area of 5,000 square metres featuring 16 conventional filling positions and 4 charging points for EVs, including 2 DC fast charger and 2 AC medium charger with a charging speed of 60kW and 7 kW respectively, while fast charging can support 150-300 kilometers for most EVs in Hong Kong within 60 minutes. Located next to Tung Chung Bay, the Shell Airport (Cargo Terminal) Gas and Charging Station offers Shell customers and drivers passing through the station a pristine coastal scenery of Lantau Island from the station’s green landscape area and a different travelling experience away from the hustle and bustle.

Ms. Anne Yu, Managing Director of Shell Hong Kong Limited said, “Shell is committed to enhancing the driving experience and we are delighted to establish the first Gas and Charging facility in Hong Kong at Hong Kong International Airport, an international and regional aviation hub, which combines traditional vehicle refilling and EV charging services. We have set a target to reduce the net carbon intensity of all energy sold by 100% by 2050, comparing with 2016. Shell will mitigate any remaining emissions that are unavoidable by developing carbon capture and storage; as well as using natural sinks and continue to work with customers to achieve net-zero emissions target.

As a green space for drivers and the public, we hope the new station will deliver an unparalleled experience.”

Dr. Kenneth Leung, Assistant Director (Air Policy) of Environmental Protection Department said, “The government will promote marketisation for the sustainable development of EV charging service.
