[Q]How long have you lived here, and why did you choose the area?

I’ve been in TC for 11 years and chose TC for the spacious space of living and the open area surrounding it.

[Q]What is the most beautiful thing about your neighborhood?

Convenience, green environment, family and children oriented.

[Q]When you’re in need of a dose of culture, what do you do?

Fly to Mumbai, I wish it was that easy.. So let’s see, I love to watch Indian movies from the 80s, and 90s with my family.

[Q]Your hands-down favourite joints to hang out are?

Hands down my favourite place to hang out is definitely my house. My wife and I love to host and hang out/chill with friends and family, and have them over for a few drinks and snacks. Other than that I would not go anywhere else besides Mint and Basil in TC and the recently opened promenade. It’s such a beautiful area for families to hang out, listen to music, and play with my two boys while they are also riding their bikes and bonding. It’s just amazing.

[Q]One thing you’d never want to change about this area is?

I would never change the open space, the overwhelming feeling of the greenery, and most importantly the various types of parks for children and adults to play their favorite sports, etc…

[Q]How long have you lived here, and why did you choose the area?

We’ve lived in Tung Chung for about 10 years now, and have loved the area ever since we moved. The peace away from the city is what drew us here – with parks, outdoor activities, and scenic views. 10 years later, Tung Chung has become a mini city and the peace still remains.

[Q]What is the most beautiful thing about your neighborhood?

Definitely the views. Sometimes we’ll look out our window and just watch the clouds go past the mountains, it’s rare to find that beauty in other parts of Hong Kong.

[Q]When you’re in need of a dose of culture, what do you do?

We’re very grateful that Tung Chung has a great South Asian community. Sometimes we go to restaurants nearby to have tea and samosa, and we’re instantly taken back to our days in India. Our culture is present everywhere, with regular parties and gatherings, which makes it really special.

[Q]Your hands-down favourite joints to hang out are?

We’re big fans of live music and A-Tavola is the perfect place for that on the weekends. We love sitting outside during winter, listening to the live band, and having a great time.

[Q]One thing you’d never want to change about this area is?

The nature, and our accessibility to it. We love going on walks by cable cars, quick easy hikes to Mui Wo, views from Scenic Hill, and so much more. Being outside surrounded by greenery is our way of relaxing after a work week, and we would never want to let go of that.

3.5 years. TC has excellent options to connect with the Indian community and nearby Indian groceries shops that immensely help to buy daily essentials.

[Q]What is the most beautiful thing about your neighborhood?

Natural beauty surrounded by mountains, plenty of options for physical activities, well connected to mall and MTR, and the most beautiful of all is having the chance to connect with a big Indian community

[Q]When you’re in need of a dose of culture, what do you do?

Socialize with loved ones, invite people for lunch/Potluck, or step out with friends for camping or chill out at the nearby park.

We have spent the last 22 years in Hong Kong, and 12 of those years have been spent living in TC. We love it here because people are nice and we feel safe even during late-night travels.

[Q]What is the most beautiful thing about your neighborhood?

I feel that Caribbean Coast is the most beautiful neighborhood in Tung Chung. I spend a lot of time strolling in the parks, shopping, and socializing with friends who are family. Thankfully I have wonderful neighbors too who are very nice, humble, and caring people.

[Q]When you’re in need of a dose of culture, what do you do?

We celebrate and attend a lot of Indian festivals in Hong Kong like Diwali, Navaratri, Kite Festival, Dussehra, etc.

[Q]How long have you lived here, and why did you choose the area?

I’ve been living here in Hong Kong for about 8 months. I moved here with my family after my parents were offered jobs of better positions. As skeptical as I was before making this move, I’ve come to like and appreciate everything this country has to offer.

[Q]What is the most beautiful thing about your neighborhood?

From the neon city lights to the long lines for bubble tea, Hong Kong has proven itself to be very systematic and structured. While the city is known for its energetic and vibrant style of living, Tung Chung in particular portrays a much calmer and homey side of Hong Kong. I’ve resided in Tung Chung right from when I first moved to Hong Kong. I’ve been fond of Tung Chung as it’s residentially comforting but is also bountiful with its views and activities.

[Q]When you’re in need of a dose of culture, what do you do?

While Hong Kong is popularly known for its vibrant nightlife, a walk in a promenade in any and all corners of this city is quite underrated. Taking a quick ferry to a village like Cheung Chau to experience ancient Hong Kong and familiarize yourself with the fishermen’s culture is a great and affordable way of exploring Hong Kong and getting a dose of its rich culture. In addition, a night out at Lan Kwai Fong is the ideal venture to experience the famous nightlife here in Hong Kong and socialize with people of different backgrounds.

[Q]Your hands-down favourite joints to hang out are?

Personally, places like LKF, shopping outlets, and Mong Kok are interesting to explore. While I love Central for its countless dining options, Causeway Bay is hands down my favourite area to visit. It never fails to impress me with the variety of clothing stores, restaurants, and views it has to offer.

[Q]One thing you’d never want to change about this area is?

I admire the energy among the people here in Hong Kong and appreciate how modernized the city is while still preserving and highlighting its ancient culture.

More than 7 years. We chose this area for its vibrant Indian community. It has its own city views yet it’s so close to nature. This area has several options for kids’ extra-curricular activities.

[Q]What is the most beautiful thing about your neighborhood?

It has a close association with nature. Beautiful parks, overall greenery, waterfront,  proximity to the airport – all these add up to the beauty of this area

[Q]When you’re in need of a dose of culture, what do you do?

Participate in all the cultural activities organized in this area, relish the memories by looking at photos of past events, and feel close to India

[Q]Your hands-down favourite joints to hang out are?

Funky Monkey, Atavola, La Vista

[Q]One thing you’d never want to change about this area is?

The lively & fresh vibes of this area and the multi-cultural, helping community.
